The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Programme recognizes that success in practicing child and adolescent psychiatry is dependent on adequate training in a well-structured Programme. Beyond attaining essential knowledge, skills and attitudes, fellows are encouraged to develop a sense of professional identity that includes becoming competent leaders in their clinical field, sensitive therapists, advocates for children, and thoughtful participants and consultants within multidisciplinary team structures. One primary goal of the Programme is to produce competent leaders in child and adolescent psychiatry by implementing and requiring a high level of core competencies in the field. The two years Programme is committed to providing an exceptional experience to fellow trainees that combines a high quality patient care with academic excellence. Our Programme affiliation with the Academic institution of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences is a particular source of pride for us and it will enable us to open more doors for research opportunities and other related activities. The Programme emphasises the concept that research and scholarly competencies are fundamental aspects of being a physician and a child and adolescent psychiatrists.
